Entrepreneur · Founder · Investor · Riyadh

I turn promising ideas into operating companies built to grow.

I'm Hamdan Alghamdi, a Saudi entrepreneur and investor based in Riyadh. My portfolio includes six companies that I have founded, co-founded, or invested in across technology and artificial intelligence, e-commerce enablement, smart agriculture, retail, and on-demand services.

I work from inside the business, not from the sidelines. I establish the legal and governance structure, secure the required licences, build the first team, launch the product, and stay close to operations until the model proves it can scale. More than a decade in legal advisory and corporate governance has shaped an approach that combines commercial ambition with institutional discipline.

My Approach

Success does not begin with the idea alone. It begins with how the company is built.

For more than a decade, I have worked from two complementary positions: advising boards and executive teams on governance and risk, while making product, people, and market decisions inside my own companies. That intersection shaped my operating approach: establish the right foundation first, then move with measured speed to test, learn, and expand.

I therefore look beyond the pitch deck. I start with a disciplined ownership structure, a licence that accurately reflects the activity, contracts that reduce avoidable friction, and a revenue model tested by a real customer. This does not slow the company down. It protects the business from mistakes that should have been resolved on day one.

Design the company from the outset to handle ten times its current scale — then move with conviction to reach it.

Sectors in which I work

  • Technology and artificial intelligence: Digital products, platforms, automation, and AI-enabled systems.
  • E-commerce enablement: The technical and operational infrastructure behind online stores.
  • Retail and fashion: Consumer brands designed for the Saudi and GCC markets.
  • Smart agriculture: Solutions that improve efficiency, sustainability, and food security.
  • On-demand services: Scalable consumer-service operating models.

From Idea to Operations

How I turn an idea into a functioning, scalable company

Get the foundation right before raising capital

I document the entity, ownership, and governance structure from day one. Correcting a cap table or founder terms at the beginning is straightforward. Delaying that work until an investor enters — or a dispute arises — can make the same issue costly and complex.

Launch early. Measure rigorously.

A product used by a real customer is more valuable than a perfect plan on paper. I begin with a defined scope, measure actual customer behaviour, and direct development using evidence rather than assumptions.

Stay close to operations

I do not treat a company as an investment reviewed once every quarter. I stay close to the numbers, the team, and the customer so that the course can be corrected within days — not after an entire quarter has been lost.

Turn contracts into growth tools

Every partnership, supply agreement, or distribution arrangement is an opportunity to create commercial advantage. A strong contract does not obstruct execution; it clarifies responsibility, reduces friction, and accelerates decisions.

Make compliance a competitive advantage

A licensed, compliant, and audit-ready company can compete for institutional contracts that are not available to informal or poorly structured operators. Compliance is not simply an obligation; it is access to a larger market.

Build for the Saudi market from day one

I build products for Saudi Arabia at their core: Arabic-first in the user experience, aligned with local regulation, and connected to the opportunities created by the Kingdom's economic transformation and Saudi Vision 2030.

A Practical Advantage

Where a general counsel's judgement meets a founder's mindset

Alongside building my own companies, I lead the legal function for a group of contracting and industrial businesses. My responsibilities include corporate governance, negotiation of major agreements, dispute management, and advice to executive leadership on enterprise risk.

That experience has shown me where companies actually break down: undocumented ownership, a contract signed too quickly, or a regulatory obligation that was never reflected in the operating plan. I bring that awareness into every company I build so that early-stage mistakes do not become expansion-stage crises.
